Objective of B.Ed Programme : The main aim of B.Ed course is to developing the understanding and competencies required by teachers for effective teaching-learning process at the secondary stage. It provides opportunities of sharing experiences gained by teachers. In addition, it provides knowledge and develops in them an understanding of areas such as Educational Evaluation, School Management etc. Below are details of B.Ed Programme :
Programme Structure : The B.Ed programme structure will be as per NCTE B.Ed Curruculum Framework – 2014
Medium of Instruction: It is available in both medium i.e English and Hindi
Duration : The minimum duration to complete the B.Ed degree is 2 years and the maximum period allowed for completion of the programme will be 5 years.
Age Bar: There is no age bar for admission to the B.Ed programme
Fee Details : All candidate taking admission to this course need to pay the total fee of Rs 20,000/- for the entire programme in lump sum in the first year only (under revision) during the admission process. Candidates who wants to take admission to the B.Ed programme are advised not to pay the fee along with
the filled-in application form. They will get a separate communication about their admission and payment of fee. The programme fee should be paid only by way of DD(Demand Draft) drawn in favour of IGNOU payable at the city where your Regional Centre is situated. Please write in capital letters your name and the programme to which admission is sought, i.e, B.Ed, on the back of the Demand Draft to ensure proper credit of your fee to the relevant account
Eligibility Details : To be eligible for B.Ed course,a) Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Commerce/Humanity, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent there to, are eligible for admission to the programme andb) The following categories are eligible to be the students of B.Ed(ODL): (a) Trained in-service teachers in elementary education. OR
(b) Candidates who have completed a NCTE recognized teacher education programme through face-to-face mode.
(c) The reservation and relaxation in marks for SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer)/PWD and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government/State Government, whichever is applicable
Important Note :
1) For SC/ST and other categories of candidates, there shall be relaxation of 5% marks if any, as per Govt. of India Rules.
2) The candidate should submit their application form only at the nearby Regional Centre
3) Masters’ Degree awarded without a 1st degree is not accepted for purpose of Academic Studies in IGNOU
IGNOU B.Ed Admission Procedure 2016 : The Admission for B.Ed Course shall be done on the basis of the score obtained in the entrance test conducted by IGNOU all over India. The admission for this course also depends upon the no. of seats available under particular PSC. The number of seats of each PSC is limited to 50 only. Students who wants to take admission can download IGNOU B.Ed Application form 2016 from official website or they can also obtain it from the IGNOU B.Ed prospectus 2016. The complete detail about the programme can be obtained from the nearest IGNOU Regional Centre by paying a fee of Rs. 1000/-(Including Registration Fee) at counter. The B.Ed prospectus can also be obtained via post from the Registrar (SRD), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi- 110068 or the nearest regional centre by paying a fee Rs. 1050/- through a Demand Draft/IPO in favour of IGNOU, payable at New Delhi/city of Regional Centre concerned.
The candidate who wants to apply for B.Ed admission will be required to submit the filled-in application form with attested copy of documents as specified in Entrance-cum-Admission Form. The original documents are to be submitted later after receiving offer letter for admission. Students need to send the duly filled-in application form along with a DD/IPO for Rs 1,050 in favour of IGNOU, payable at New Delhi / city of Regional Centre to the following address “Registrar (SED), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi – 110068” by registered post/speed post.
IGNOU B.Ed Hall Ticket 2016 : The Hall tickets for B.Ed Entrance Test will be uploaded on IGNOU website for appearing in the Entrance Test 10 days before the date of the Test. In case any candidate do not receive their hall ticket / admit card by post, he or she can download it from the website: www.ignou.ac.in to appear in the entrance examination. This university reserves the right to conduct the examination at different centres/change the examination centre of the candidates without assigning any reason thereof.
IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Exam Result : The B.Ed Entrance Test will be held on the date mentioned in the advertisement. After conducting B.Ed Entrance test, the university takes almost 45 days to declare the IGNOU B.Ed entrance test result for the current year. Sometimes, takes more time to declare result. So, we advised all students to keep visiting the university website to check the B.Ed Entrance Exam Result for current year.
IGNOU B.Ed Assignments : As everybody knows that IGNOU Assignments are an integral and compulsory component of the instructional system. There are only 1 tutor-marked assignments for each theory course. These assignments are to be submitted to the programme centre in accordance with the submission schedule provided separately in the programme guide.
IGNOU B.Ed Course & Syllabus : It consists of Group A : Core Courses (Total: 20 Credits), Group B : Content-Based Methodology Course (Total: 8 Credits), Group C : Special Course (Total: 4 Credits), Compulsory Courses (Total: 8 Credits), Group D : Practical Courses (Total: 16 Credits).
